What our customers have to say about us….

“From the first day we stepped into the Music School of Meath almost 20 years ago we knew it was a special place. In every lesson learning was always offered and never imposed and fun and positive interaction was always evident. When arriving at the school the social element and interaction between parents, children and staff led to the relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. Everyone felt free to socialise yet always being mindful of classes in progress. All three of our girls, our youngest soon to begin grade 8, have enjoyed the Music School of Meath experience and not a day goes by without hearing at least one girl playing piano which is testament to the school.”

“Where do I begin with the wonderful Music School of Meath!
My two girls have attended Kindergarten, Pre-Instrumental and Musicianship classes and I couldn’t be happier with their experience so far! The teachers are all incredibly talented and knowledgeable and have a way of communicating that makes learning fun and engaging. It is amazing how much the girls have progressed both musically and socially and I’m looking forward to my 3 year old starting Kindergarten in September.
In addition to the high-quality instruction, Séadna and his team provide a positive and supportive environment for any child to learn and discover their full potential.
I highly recommend the Music School of Meath to any parents looking to give their child a fun and rewarding musical education.”

“Our two children started with the Music School of Meath when they were four years of age. They began group music classes with other children learning the basics of rhythm and notes by clapping and dancing etc. It’s a real gentle way to begin learning the joys of music. They loved it and skipped into class every week. They have both continued and are in the musicianship classes now. They learn about the notes and the different sizes and lengths and also about the base and treble clefs. It’s a fun environment and the teachers are SUPERB. It’s a very child led/driven way of teaching. We are really happy with their progress and look forward to them taking up the piano when the time comes and hopefully excelling at that. The immense groundwork for reading music will be completed by then and this will ease that transition. We love the manner in which this is taught to the children through song, dance and written exercises. The teachers are hugely encouraging and give us parents pointers on what can be practiced at home too which gives us a clearer sense of what they are achieving in class. It’s a wonderfully positive learning environment and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ve recommended it to many friends who have also joined the classes. I’m so grateful to Seadna and all the staff who work so hard all year to help our children learn the importance of and appreciation of music, which is a gift for life.”

“I highly recommend Séadna and the teachers at Music School of Meath. They helped instil a love of music in my two children who started with the kindergarten classes and progressed on through musicianship to piano lessons. The teachers are friendly and encouraging and the setup in Johnstown is excellent.”

“Our son attended the Music School of Meath from the age of five up to age eighteen when he completed his Leaving Certificate. From kindergarten through the Junior Certificate and finishing with his Leaving Certificate he had an overwhelmingly positive experience. The classes are small in numbers, thereby facilitating the teachers to get to know each pupil and to familiarise themselves with their strengths and weaknesses.
It was obvious to me, being in education myself, that great care was taken in the choice of teachers working in the school. Again our son found the teachers encouraging, engaging and always very appropriate in the interactions with him. This included weekly friendly banter which we all enjoyed hearing about.
The piano was our son’s choice of instrument which he learned to play to a high standard, achieving the the maximum grade in both Junior Cert & Leaving Cert honours papers. Indeed his music teacher in secondary school commented to me that she knew in a very short time that my son attended the Music School of Meath and that she recognises these students very quickly in her class.
Séadna Franklin is the director of the school and he personally oversees each student and their progress. As parents we had an annual Parent/Teacher meeting with Séadna and he was a regular visitor to our son’s lessons, complimenting him or encouraging more practice, if that was what was required. My wife and I found Séadna wholly professional and he oversaw our son’s progress with genuine interest from both a music and a personal viewpoint. He was a pleasure to deal with.
We can highly recommend the Music School of Meath to parents and have no doubt pupils learn and enjoy the whole experience. We will always be grateful for the musical education our son received there and to hear him play his favourite pieces now brings a smile to our faces. The Music School of Meath was one of the best decisions we made for our son and the fact that he continued to attend through his teenage years is for us, a testimony to the school and its teachers.”

“We can’t recommend highly enough the Music School of Meath. Séadna and his excellent team of teachers provide a superb, well-structured music education. We have experience from music kindergarten right through to Leaving Cert level – almost 20 years in total . Our three sons gained a wonderful love of music and the best of skills and techniques, not only in playing piano, but also a holistic education incorporating musicianship and appreciation. Each of their teachers inspired confidence from the start and knew how to help them reach their potential. They have wonderful memories of “Ceolscoil”, as it was called when they started, and we are so grateful to Séadna and team!”

“Our two daughters attended The Meath School of Meath (Ceolscoil na Mí) from Kindergarten right through to Grade 8. The teachers throughout the years were always patient, kind and very professional taking into account the age and pace each child was at. Our girls made steady progress throughout each year and always did well in their exams. Practice became part of their homework. This was the one after school activity the girls continued all throughout school. The school was run very professionally by the Director, Seadna who was always available if you needed to chat. I highly recommend the Music School of Meath.”

“My three children attended the Music School of Meath, the youngest finishing up in June 2022 with Leaving Cert Music and ending our 23 year association with the school. All three progressed through from Kindergarten classes to small group theory classes, paired piano lessons, individual piano lessons, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert. All three had different levels of aptitude but at all times were coached and encouraged by their teachers who brought out the best in all three of them. Séadna and his staff were always genuinely interested in them as individuals, delivering tuition of the highest standard in a constructive and positive way. I have no hesitation in recommending the Music School of Meath to any parent who is thinking about music tuition for their child.”

“The Music School of Meath is so much more than a place to attend music lessons. Séadna and his patient, talented teachers have created a community of musicians and inspired many to pursue musical and teaching careers. As parents with NO musical abilities whatsoever, we remain in awe (after 25 years attending the school), of Séadna’s skills as an inspirational leader and patient and fun educator.
Encourage your children to learn an instrument – they will be forever grateful. Let them do so with Séadna in the Music School of Meath. See them experience the positive, relaxed and confidence-building effect – you will be forever grateful.”

“Séadna and the music teachers are very professional, kind and passionate about music. With over 20 years of attending musicianship classes and piano lessons with my boys we experienced a true sense of encouragement and a nurturing of the love for music. They have gained skills knowledge and the appreciation of music for life, progressing from the fun of listening to music to achieving grade 8. Thank you Seadna for your constant enthusiasm! I highly recommend The Music School of Meath.”
